Local VB report and schedule for weekend games:

Vinemont stays hot by sweeping tri match at home Thursday:

GDW Analysis:
Going into the Labor Day weekend, Vinemont volleyball has become the hottest squad locally.
Vinemont moved to 9 & 3 on the season and 6 & 0 at home Thursday in sweeping Locust Fork 3 to 0 and Cullman Christian School 2 to 0.
The victory against Locust Fork gives them a 2 & 0 start in 3A, Area 11 play.
Other results Thursday:
Cullman Christian split the tri match at Vinemont with a 2 to 0 defeat of Locust Fork.
That stopped a brief losing skid for the Lady Lions who were swept earlier in the week by Athens Bible and Elkmont.
West Point was part of a 5A festival in Moulton at Lawrence County.
The Lady Warriors edged Arab 2 games to 1 before they fell to Guntersville 2 to 0.

West Point has split 4 assignments this week and has yet to play at Jim Boyd Gymnasium.
Good Hope went back on the road and was not able to stay as a winner. The Lady Raiders fell in a tri match of 2 to 0 results to Mortimer Jordan and Pell City.
Good Hope is 6 & 0 from the home floor, but winless in 4 matches off campus.
Cullman and Hartselle went into a dandy, something normal for these rivals.
Hartselle claimed a 3 to 2 victory at home in non area play. Cullman fell to 4 & 3 for the young season.
On Friday:
Cullman is playing Bob Jones at 4:30 p.m. and Grissom at 7:30 p.m. in the Ironman Invitational at Huntsville High School.
West Point is making its way down to the Gulf Coast. The Lady Warriors are involved in the OWA Labor Day Classic from Foley.
Saturday:
Vinemont is hosting an invitational.
The Lady Eagles schedule in pool play is vs. Huntsville Christian at 9:00 a.m. and Lexington at 11:00 a.m. in Pool A on Court 1.
Pool B on Court 2 will be Lindsay Lane vs. Decatur Heritage at 9:00, Decatur Heritage vs. Meek at 10:00 and Meek vs, Lindsay Lane at 11:00.
The event then goes into double elimination at 12:00 from Vinemont Gymnasium.
Wallace State:
Something will be different for Wallace State VB this weekend.
The Lady Lions are playing their invitational from the brand new Omniplex in Cullman.

Wallace State is to face Lawson State at 2:00 p.m. and Coastal Alabama South at 6:00 p.m. Friday.
On Saturday, the Lady Lions are to meet Georgia Highlands at 11:00 a.m. and Cleveland State CC at 1:00 p.m.
Wallace State started the 2025 schedule last weekend going 4 & 0 in an assignment at Itawamba CC in Fulton, Mississippi.
This is the first time the new facility will feature volleyball competition with the building consisting of 8 courts in the setup for volleyball play.
The Omniplex is located across the road from the Field of Miracles in Cullman.
