Sweeps and tiebreakers highlight the play locally on September 9:

GDW Analysis:
From volleyball around the Gameday Weekly coverage area Tuesday, a series of sweeps and pair of matches that went into a decisive 5th set.
Falkville 3 to 0 over St. Bernard:
Falkville visited the Fazi Richard Athletic Center and earned a sweep of St. Bernard in three close encounters.
The Blue Devils won 25 to 21, 25 to 21 and 25 to 19 with the match taking an hour and 13 minutes to be played.
The week before Falkville has defeated St. Bernard 2 games to 1 in a tri match from its home floor.
Holly Pond over Good Hope 3 games to 2:
GOOD HOPE: Holly Pond experienced going into a 5 game set for the 3rd time in a week span.
Last week, the Lady Broncos edged Hanceville 3 to 2 then fell in a hotly contested 3A, Area 11 battle at Vinemont 3 to 2 on September 5.
Tuesday, the Lady Broncos fell behind 2 to 0 to Good Hope. Holly Pond went through adjustments and won the last three games, 25 to 22, 25 to 19 and 15 to 13 in the tiebreaker.
Adrien Adams' Lady Broncos have gone 5 & 1 on the floor since last Saturday when Holly Pond hosted the Monica Ayers Classic. The Lady Broncos are 14 & 6 for the season.
Good Hope fell to 11 & 7 with this being the first time the Lady Raiders had been defeated on campus in 7 assignments this season.
Muscle Shoals over Cullman 3 games to 2:
At Bearcat Arena, Cullman and Muscle Shoals locked up in a long and entertaining battle of 6A schools.
Cullman held the upper hand after 2 sets with wins of 25 to 21 and 25 to 21.
However, Muscle Shoals broke the Lady 'Cats momentum and took the match with victory of 25 to 18, 25 to 23 and 15 to 10 in the final three games.
Vinemont and Hanceville sweep Asbury 2 to 0:
HANCEVILLE: After Vinemont opened a tri match at Lane Horton Gymnasium Tuesday sweeping Hanceville 3 to 0, the Lady Eagles took two from the Asbury Lady Rams.
Vinemont went home with an overall record of 17 & 6, the best in the county at the present time.
Hanceville managed to compile a split from its perspective by sweeping Asbury in straight sets.
Addison 3 to 0 over Cullman Christian School:
The best team in 1A, Area 13 invaded the city of Cullman consecutive days and claimed sweeps.
Addison took down St. Bernard 3 to 0 Monday at the Fazi Richard Athletic Center.
Tuesday, the Lady Bulldogs were at Cullman Christian School with a sweep of the Lady Lions.
Addison will be back in area play at Allen Stephenson Gymnasium next Tuesday vs. their long time rival the Meek Lady Tigers.
No report on Russellville at West Point:
WEST POINT: Nothing has been posted to the proper sites for the AHSAA from Tuesday's match in 5Am Area 15 between West Point and Russellville.
This was the area opener for the Lady Warriors who had been at Jim Boyd Gymnasium the day before in their home opener by sweeping Danville and Geraldine.
West Point stays in area play Thursday with a short drive into Moulton to match up with their friendly rival Lawrence County at 5:30 p.m.
