Meek Lady Tigers, Tigers earn area wins at Cullman Christian:

Both Meek teams clinch the 1A, Area 14 regular season title Thursday:

AHSAA 1A, Area 14 girls at Cullman Christian:

Meek: Zarah Harden 15, Zoe Hearn 13, Addisyn Williams 10.
CCS: Piper Coots 8, Zoe Powell 7, Rylee Stubbs 5, Gracie Stidham 7, Lila Sellers 5, Hayden Smith 2.
GDW Analysis:
  No. 9 ranked Meek encountered a strong challenge from Cullman Christian Thursday evening.
The Lady Tigers had a 10 to 5 advantage in the 2nd, moving ahead of the Lady Lions for the rest of the contest.
Meek was up 17 to 15 at the break.
Both teams had better scoring in the final half.
Meek produced 27 with CCS getting 18. The 4th was the difference in which Meek tallied a 14 to 7 edge and won by 11 with Williams hitting a three as time expired for the largest lead of the night by the visitor from Arley.
Harden, a 7th grader, was smooth all night for Meek with 6 FGs, 1 trey and 2 of 4 from the line.
A difference in the game was FT scoring with Meek 14 of 26, getting 7 of 10 by Hearn to lead them from the stripe.

 Cullman Christian displayed a balanced attack with Coots making 5 of 8 from the line and hitting a 3.
Powell and Stidham provided 14 points together from the perimeter and near the goal.
A quick start by Meek in the final period sent the lead from 30 to 26 to 36 to 26.

 Meek is 5 & 0 in Area 14 and will host the area playoff in February.
CCS is 2nd in the standings at 3 & 2.

CCS     10  4   12   8  -  34 (1 & 14, 1 & 4)
Meek: Evan McCay 15, Parker Ferguson 14, Coleman Bonner 14.
CCS: Andrew Coffey 17, Griffin Kilpatrick 11, Andrew Green 5.
GDW Analysis:
For the 1st 5:00 of this 1A, Area 14 battle, Cullman Christian was right with Meek as Kilpatrick tallied a 3 for the home standing Lions with Coffey showing a good touch from the line in making 5 of 8.
However, Meek, the defending area champion, closed out the 1st on an 11 to 2 run and was in contest the rest of the evening.
A bright spot for the Tigers was McCay scoring 5 times from 3 point range with Ferguson and Bonner delivering 14 points apiece.
CCS did have a good 3rd period in hitting 3 treys to match Meek in that category.
The Lions were led by Coffey with a game high 17 on 4 FGs, 1 trey and 8 of 12 from the line.
Kilpatrick netted 3 treys and 2 FTs from his outside shooting position.
Meek is 5 & 0 in the area, clinching the top spot for the Area 14 tournament to be played in Arley in early February.
