VINEMONT: Excitement soared Monday in the quarterfinal round of the Cullman County volleyball tournament from Vinemont Gymnasium.
Two matches went into a tiebreaker while the other was victory for the higher seed in overall performance.
# 5 Fairview over # 4 Holly Pond 3 to 2:
Last Thursday, these two battled it out to a tiebreaker with Holly Pond winning the match 2 games to 1.
On Tuesday, the highly anticipated rematch.
Fairview 26 to 24 in 1st set, Holly Pond 25 to 23 in the 2nd, Fairview 26 to 24 in Game 3, Holly Pond 27 to 25 in the 4th set, Fairview winning the match in the 5th set 15 to 6.

# 3 Vinemont over # 6 Cold Springs 3 to 2:
Vinemont can say it was battled tested Monday evening.
The Lady Eagles won the opener 25 to 19, Cold Springs took Game 2 and Game 3 by scores of 26 to 24 and 25 to 23.
Vinemont hung in there with a 25 to 16 win in the 4th set.
Vinemont claimed a 15 to 13 triumph in the tiebreaker.

Vinemont now 24 & 11 and 15 & 2 at home.
# 2 Good Hope over # 7 Hanceville 3 to 0:
Second seed Good Hope, the defending county champion, needed 59 minutes to outlast Hanceville in straight sets, 25 to 9, 25 to 16 and 25 to 14.
Good Hope is now 20 & 14 on the season.

Kailyn Redding of Fairview - On top of her game at the net with numerous kills against a strong Holly Pond crew.
Redding is on her way in her performance level with GDW getting to see it up close and personal.
Tuesday semifinal matchups:
# 1 West Point vs. # 5 Fairview at 5:00 p.m.
West Point is the top seed and 19 & 11 on the season. Lady Warriors played well last Tuesday in Quad Match at Fairview to grab the No. 1 position.
Fairview will bring momentum into this encounter after outlasting Holly Pond Monday in 5 games.
# 2 Good Hope vs. # 3 Vinemont at 5:00 p.m.
Good Hope is out to end Vinemont's quest for a championship berth from Vinemont Gymnasium.
The Lady Eagles are 15 & 2 and will play Good Hope on campus for the first time Tuesday.
Good Hope is 3 & 0 vs. Vinemont this season, beating the Lady Eagles twice in the Volley Brawl August 23 at Good Hope and last Tuesday at Fairview in a Quad Match.
