Former Good Hope star makes an impact at UAH:

GDW Analysis:
Playoff basketball with the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) is idle for Thursday evening locally.
Collegiate basketball steps into the spotlight featuring a former prep star who enjoyed her best game last weekend for the University of Alabama Huntsville.
Sophomore Ivey Maddox produced 24 points on 9 FGs, 6 from 3 point range in the Lady Chargers' 83 to 39 rout of Mississippi College at Spragins Hall.
Maddox the former Good Hope Lady Raider, helped the Lady Chargers improve to 21 & 4, 16 & 1 in the Gulf South Conference and 12 & 0 playing on its campus.

 UAH is led by former Wallace State Lady Lions coach Allen Sharpe in his 2nd year. They are currently on top of the GSC, a member of Division II of the NCAA.
UAH is at Christian Brothers Thursday in Memphis, Tennessee then stays in the Volunteer State with a game at Union University in Jackson on Saturday.
Wallace State basketball:
The defending ACCC champion Lady Lions have put together a solid 2025/26 campaign as they will be at Tom Drake Coliseum Thursday for a conference battle with Bishop State from Mobile.
Tip time is 5:30 p.m.
Coach Joseph Simmons' Lady Lions are 21 & 1 overall, 6 & 1 in the conference, currently 2nd to Shelton State's 7 & 0 league record.
They are 9 & 1 in playing at the Coliseum.
Wallace State has a Good Hope connection, the Tetro sisters, Heather and Bailey.
Both have seen playing of time in each game as Wallace is averaging 72.5 points a game, 44.5 rebounds per game, 18 assists a game.

 The Wallace State Lions step on the Coliseum floor against Bishop State at 7:30 p.m.
Wallace is 4 & 3 in the conference standings, tied for 3rd with Bishop and Southern Union going into the Thursday schedule.
Shelton State and Gadsden State share the lead with 5 & 2 in a hotly contested conference schedule.
The Lions are defending ACCC champion in their 2nd season under former Hartselle High School coach Faron Key.

 3A: Carbon Hill at Vinemont (92.1 FM)

 Varsity games to be on Saturday 6:00 p.m.
2A: Lamar Co at Cold Springs
3A: Vinemont at Winfield
5A: West Point at Boaz
