The facts:
Vinemont clinched a playoff berth with the upset last Friday at Gordo. The Eagles have won 6 in a row after an 0 & 2 start and stand atop the regional standings with 2 games left on the schedule.
The Eagles face an Oakman squad that has lost 2 straight to the elite from Region 5, Gordo (29 to 13) and Winfield (32 to 10).
Coach Stephen Robinson is aware of Oakman to challenge his Eagles and wants to make it where a letdown can not develop on October 17.
The win against Gordo proved the fact the Eagles can overcome a deficit. Vinemont was down 13 to 7 at the half and showed progress in the final half with 3 TDs going on the scoreboard at Green Wave Field in Pickens County.
Since 2024 regular season, Vinemont has posted 13 wins out of 18 games.
The Eagles are playing at home for the final time in the 2025 schedule.
Vinemont is 3 & 1 on the home side.
A lot of uncertainty remains for Vinemont. Trying to win the final 2 regional games against Oakman and at Winfield October 24.
Vinemont has head to head advantage in wins against Gordo and Phil Campbell.
Winfield's lone loss in the region was to Gordo and Gordo went down in defeat last week to an upstart Vinemont squad.
The Eagles have clinched their 6th straight trip to the playoffs under Robinson.
Robinson is 42 & 51 at Vinemont in his 9th season, 2nd in all time victories at his alma mater.
Region 5 from Class 3A will hook up with Region 6 in the opening round of the AHSAA playoffs.
Currently in Region 6, Piedmont is on top at 5 & 0 followed by a 3 way tie for 2nd between Westbrook Christian, Walter Welborn and Glencoe at 4 & 1.
