Playday progress for Vinemont Eagles, West Point Warriors:
Eagles, Warriors put out good efforts at West Point playday:

GDW Analysis:
WEST POINT: Vinemont Eagles were young in 2024/25 hoops with at least half a dozen being a sophomore.
Now the Eagles are maturing and showing it in positive results from the current playday tour.
Vinemont tallied a 37 to 19 triumph Tuesday morning against Priceville in a playday from Jim Boyd Gymnasium.
The West Point Warriors continued to show progress as they played a superior 2nd half to defeat the Addison Bulldogs 55 to 25.
Vinemont:
New coach James Brown is pleased how the Eagles are moving along since they have experience and much of the roster will be in their junior season in 2025/26.
Vinemont got out to a quick 8 to 0 lead on Priceville with a pair of treys and a field goal.
Priceville managed to make a slight run before the Eagles ended the half with another surge and was up at the half, 23 to 13.
Vinemont worked hard to increase the lead with the Eagles going up 29 to 15 near the midway point of the last half and keeping Priceville to only four points for the rest of the contest.
Performing well for Vinemont was by a cast of Eagles, including Colton Gillis, Bryson Bush, Will Conquest, Gee Flores and Gavin Parr.
These five understand the purpose of continuing to work hard during the summer time to carry momentum into the new season in the fall.
West Point:
One regular starter was not able to be on the floor Tuesday for Mason Voce's Warriors. Forward Maddox Chapman was at home with an illness.
Voce moved forward Asa Sutter into the starting lineup and Sutter provided five FGs for 10 points to support the scoring of Jaxson Shelton, Brier Taylor and Kade Vincent.
The Warriors displayed balanced that allowed them to break open a close first half with Addison.
By halftime, the Warriors led 28 to 16 with more waiting to be put on the Jim Boyd Gym scoreboard.
West Point was smooth in its attack with Addison giving up 27 points in the final 20:00 and the Warriors holding the Bulldogs to nine.
The Warriors have been on an upswing since they recently went to a playday at Ole Miss and came back from the Grove 3 & 0 against out of state opponents.
Changes at Addison:
Addison Bulldogs were seen by Gameday Weekly for the first time in the playday series.
The Bulldogs have a new commander in former Meek Tiger assistant Chris Lane.
Lane was recently hired after the 1A school did not retain Triston Chambers following last season in which Addison was 20 & 8 and regular season champions of 1A, Area 13.
Lane working with Meek watched the Tigers defeat Addison in the Area 13 championship and go on to play in the Northwest Regional final, losing to Hubbertville at Wallace State's Tom Drake Coliseum.
Addison is experienced with Elijah Roberts at a guard position, plus forward Scout Flynn, center Kiah Lake and Cleghorn at forward.
Lane's son, Conner Lane, followed him from Arley to Addison and was in the starting lineup in the backcourt.
Addison got a 34 to 32 overtime win against Priceville before they lost to West Point.
Lake tied the game at the foul line in the closing seconds then the Bulldogs got the game winning FG in the extra period from Roberts.
Brewer is part of the playday schedule:
Brewer Patriots took part in the Tuesday playday as seen by GDW.
The Patriots, who upset West Point in the sub regional round last season, squeezed out a 40 to 37 decision over Chelsea.
Seven seniors graduated for coach Matthew Crowe, including their leading scorer, shooting guard Jackson Dunn.
Brewer battled hard by leading Chelsea 25 to 23 and escaping with victory when Chelsea missed a three as time expired to try to force overtime.
Wednesday a huge day of prep hoops:
Wallace State will present a playday Wednesday from Tom Drake Coliseum with plenty of hoops to enjoy throughout the day.
