A berth for the 5A playoffs for the winner.
This creates playoff excitement in the final week of regional play by the AHSAA for 2025.
West Point has been in the postseason only twice in the last 7 seasons.
Kevin McCravy is in his 2nd year with the Warriors as they have improved from 2 wins to 4 and in a good position to claim 6 if they are able to knock off Ardmore Friday evening and beat Brewer at home next Thursday in the finale.
Ardmore went 8 & 2 in the 2024 regular season and made the playoffs.
The Tigers are like West Point, two times from the last 7 years of taking the season into postseason

play.
West Point last week had Russellville in a 7 to 7 tie after the 1st quarter at Golden Tiger Stadium.
Russellville tallied 2 scores in the 2nd to take a 21 to 7 halftime lead.

A 61 yard TD run by RB Ollie Howell in the 3rd closed the score to 21 to 14. Russellville then gained control and 3 TDs by the Golden Tigers in the stanza sent the Warriors home under .500 in the regional standings.
Max Patterson is now the QB for the Warriors, taking over after Ayden Ennis went down with a hand injury in their 26 to 0 loss to Priceville October 3.
Patterson completed 11 of 19 passes for 104 yards and a TD toss of 22 yards to Cooper Howard in the Warriors' 14 to 6 defeat of East Lawrence two weeks ago.
Howard caught 6 passes for 65 yards and a TD.
Patterson playing smooth behind center with Howell running the ball and the pass catching from Howard and Bryant Moon was good for the Warriors to score twice in the 4th quarter and snap a scoreless tie through the 3rd with East Limestone.
The winner of this game is likely to play at Scottsboro in the first round of the 5A playoffs November 7.
Scottsboro has finished the region schedule at 5 & 1. The only loss in the region for the Wildcats was a few weeks ago to Brewer.
Guntersville is 2nd in the standings heading into Friday's play. The Wildcats are 4 & 1.
Boaz and Arab are tied for 3rd at 3 & 2. They face each other at Boaz.
Guntersville will be on the road to play Douglas.
