GDW Analysis:
ORLANDO, Florida: Premier volleyball sent a group with six players being local to the AAU 15 under nationals at Orange County Convention Center last week.
The group was among the Top 40 in their division with 158 competing in the week long event.
Premier has experienced a good travel volleyball season that enabled them to punch a ticket to the nationals.
Coaching the team is Hannah Smith and Candy Smith, a pair of people with great volleyball backgrounds from their days playing for Rosemary Brown at Good Hope High School.
The roster features Kylee Smith, Calleigh Granger, Bella White and Lakyn Burgess from Good Hope, the 2024 Cullman County middle school champion.
From Holly Pond is talented personnel in Sadie Nail and Cira Thrift.
The rest of the squad is from Blount County with Mckenna Yarbrough from JB Pennington to Kenly Brewer and Jessi Plan representing Hayden High School.
Premier began the competition with a 3 & 0 record in pool play June 25.
The 2nd day of pool play was a win, a loss and a tie vs, foes representing Arizona, Florida and Indiana.
Winning the final match on June 27 was positive after falling in a pair of encounters earlier in the day.
The group mixed in some pleasure by going to Disney Springs after they left the floor on Friday.
Premier was very pleased with how the tournament was handled by AAU and the quality of a playing site such as the Orange Beach Convention Center.
Now this group of players will return with school activity as plenty of playdays will be going on during July.
