Is playing days over for Craig Kimbrel & Dwanna Bonner?:

Both are 37 and may be on the end of great professional careers:

GDW Analysis:
Craig Kimbrel and Dwanna Bonner are well known athletes from the state of Alabama.
Both are seeing the unfortunate of their professional playing careers come to an end.
Kimbrel tried to return to the Atlanta Braves in a role of a relief pitcher. He recently pitched one inning in a Braves' game at San Francisco then was opted for free agency.
The right hander signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers. He reported to their Triple A club, Round Rock three days after the Braves cut him.
Bonner joined the Indiana Fever of the WNBA as a free agent before the 2025 season began. Bonner played in nine games before an unfortunate situation developed with Bonner being released of her contract June 25.
The two talented professionals are currently at the age of 37.
Time may be on the end for both of them in trying to remain active in Major League Baseball and the WNBA.
Kimbrel is 5th all time in saves in the majors with 440. He spent last season with the Orioles then gained a chance to return with the Braves from playing in the minors before he was promoted and pitched 1 inning against San Francisco.
A story Gameday Weekly has seen, indicated Kimbrel's fastball was no longer at the high standards ball clubs were expecting from the former Wallace State Lion.
He was clocked at 91.6 miles per hour in his relief stint June 6. Kimbrel's top speed in the minors for the Braves was reported at 93.2 miles per hour.
Kimbrel is going through the phase of work once again in the minors.
No word has been indicated by the Rangers if they will add him to their roster anytime soon.
Bonner:
A standout at Fairfield High School, Bonner caught the attention of local hoop fans playing in the AHSAA Northwest Regional at Wallace State from 2003 to 2005.
Bonner then went on to enjoy a good career in the SEC at Auburn University.
She was ready to make a long career into the WNBA of 10 seasons with the Phoenix Mercury and 5 years playing for the Connecticut Sun.
Bonner joined the Fever looking to provide the team experience and factor in with Caitlyn Clark, now in her 2nd season and among the top players the league has to present to their fans.
Personal issues surfaced as Bonner and the Fever felt the connection was not there. Bonner accepted the situation and is available a week after her release to sign with another squad.
Bonner is currently 3rd all time in WNBA scoring behind Diana Taurasi and Tina Charles.
Two superb athletes that have made their impact professionally following their time in high school and then collegiately.
Neither one has thrown in the towel.
Professional clubs may be skeptical for working with both as they are 3 years shy of being 40 and have spent better than a decade and a half in MLB and WNBA.
After her release from the Fever, Bonner went on her Twitter page and said, "A quitter? Nah. But when the time comes, make sure the apologies are as loud as the disrespect."
Kimbrel has stayed quiet from the social media following his release with the Braves and signing with the Rangers.
Again, Kimbrel and Bonner are household names from our beloved state for how they showed efforts while playing in the AHSAA, knowing the opportunity was there and both took the chance by storm.
