Fairview excels with 4 wins from the Falkville Invitational:

GDW Analysis:
FALKVILLE: Four teams from the Cullman County school system spent their softball weekend at Morgan County South Park in the Falkville Invitational.
Fairview put together a solid outing in going 4 & 0 by pulling out plenty of close encounters.
On Friday, the Lady Aggies rallied and edged Hanceville 5 to 4. That was followed by an 11 to 10 slugfest against Lindsay Lane Academy from Athens.
Returning to the field Saturday, the Lady Aggies toppled Danville 11 to 9 and finished its time at the complex in a 3 to 2 triumph against Cold Springs.
Coach Brian Simmons' Lady Eagles concluded the week with a 5 game winning streak. Fairview claimed a 7 to 6 victory at home Thursday in regular season play with Cold Springs.
They are 7 & 6 as they start the new week on Monday, weather permitting at home vs. West Point.
Hanceville:
Lady Bulldogs lost to Fairview 5 to 4 in their opener Friday.
Saturday, the Lady Bulldogs rebounded in defeating Vinemont 6 to 5, then getting a 6 to 1 win against Randolph County.
It was Hanceville that gave Vinemont its first loss to the season Thursday in a 15 to 3 decision that counts in AHSAA 3A Area 11 standings.
Hanceville is under the direction of new coach Kim Lewis.
Vinemont:
Vinemont went through a slight slump as the Lady Eagles were 5 & 0 going into an area battle from Vinemont on Thursday with Hanceville.
Hanceville took down the Lady Eagles 15 to 3.
At the Falkville Invitational, Vinemont was shut out by Danville 15 to 0. The Lady Eagles came back in the evening time, squeezing out a 2 to 1 battle from Randolph County.
Unfortunately, Hanceville met them in the Falkville Invitational and won by the final of 6 to 5.
Vinemont is 7 & 3 entering this week's schedule.
Cold Springs:
Two wins in four decisions took place for Cold Springs.
They won both games on Friday by outscoring Addison 16 to 7 and getting past Falkville 4 to 3.
The momentum was interrupted Saturday when Danville topped the Lady Eagles 8 to 2. That was followed in the afternoon by a 3 to 2 loss to Fairview.
Paige Adams' Lady Eagles carry a 4 & 6 record into the new week.
Review:
Local teams combined to go 6 & 1 against non county opponents the two days this event took place at South Park.
Fairview was the only squad having a 4 wins in 4 games in the round robin format.
Fairview got 2 wins vs. county foes Hanceville and Cold Springs.
Hanceville had a victory and a loss facing county foes Fairview and Vinemont.
Vinemont did not get a victory vs. the county with the Lady Eagles going down in a close defeat to Hanceville.
Cold Springs fell to Fairview in its only battle with a county team inside Morgan County.
