HUNTSVILLE: Survive and advance is the theme for the UAH Lady Chargers in the NCAA Division II basketball playoffs.
UAH outlasted Nova Southeastern 73 to 70 Saturday evening in the semifinal round of the South Regional from Spragins Hall.
Providing a major contribution to this victory was former Good Hope Lady Raider standout Ivey Maddox.
Maddox scored 17 points, hitting 5 treys in playing the entire game. Maddox is in her sophomore season with the squad and has seen a very productive year after going through the learning curb in her freshman campaign.
The Lady Chargers improve to 30 & 5 in defeating the Lady Sharks for the first time in program history.
Nova Southeastern finishes with 28 wins and 5 losses, compiling a 16 & 4 record from the Sunshine State Conference.
UAH represents the Gulf South Conference in its 2nd year with former Wallace State Lady Lions' coach Allen Sharpe running the program.
The Lady Chargers will meet Eckerd College in the championship Monday at 7:00 p.m. from Spragins Hall.
