Schwellenbach, Strider of the Braves a key combo on the mound:

Both are in a groove for the Braves, just ask the New York Mets:

GDW Analysis:
With Chris Sale on the injury list, a pair of Atlanta Braves' hurlers with the first name of Spencer, are keeping the ball club believing they can still earn a berth into the 2025 MLB postseason.
Spencer Schwellenbach and Spencer Strider have combined for six wins and no loses, with both 3 & 0 in their last 3 starts.
Schwellenbach was good on Monday of 7 innings, giving up a 2 run homer with the Braves beating their rival the New York Mets 3 to 2 in the series opener from Citi Stadium.
A day later, Strider hurled five innings as he was given support by the Braves at the plate in rallying to claim a 7 to 4 decision.
Heading into Game 3 of the 4 game series Wednesday, the Braves had beaten the Mets five times from a three game sweep last week in Atlanta and on to two more vs. the No. 2 team in the National League East.
Both are making their point while Sale has to overcome his rib injury last week while pitching well to handcuff the Mets in almost throwing a complete game.
In his two wins vs. the Mets, Schwellenbach had pitched 14 innings, allowed 10 hits, 3 walks and 12 strikeouts. He fanned 8 in his victory against them on June 17.
From his current 3 game winning streak, Schwellenbach has a complete game, 23 innings on the mound, yielded 15 hits and struck out 21.
Strider has seen the tough times from winless in his first three games after coming back from the DL to three straight triumphs, two being over the Mets.
Strider has put together 17 innings from the starting role in this span with 10 hits given up.
The right hander has surrendered six walks and compensated that with 29 strikeouts.
From the two wins over the Mets, he has sent down with his fastball eight times at home last week and eight in his outing on Tuesday.
His four walks accounted for three runs scored by New York.
Strider at times, has a slight problem with control when trying to mix in off speed stuff with his fastball that averages in the upper 90s per pitch.
In winning 7 of their last 10 games entering the battle with the Mets Wednesday, the Braves are doing with they can to play steady baseball following a dreadful 0 & 7 to start the season when they were swept on the West Coast by the Padres and Dodgers.
After facing the Mets, the Braves come home and will play at Truist Park for nine consecutive days.
The Phillies will be first up with Schwellenbach to be on the mound Saturday and Strider to make his next start on Sunday.
Even though the Braves stand 9.5 games back of the Phillies heading into Wednesday evening, they have shown they are capable of getting into a groove.
The Mets are 1 & 9 in the last 10 games, 5 of the losses have been to the Braves.
