Scottsboro kicks their way to an upset over Fairview:

Three FGs from Scottsboro is enough to end Fairview's season:

GDW Analysis:
FAIRVIEW: Scottsboro Wildcats used three FGs by Cole Raeuchle with the last coming from 27 yards out with 1:25 to play to score a 16 to 14 victory over previously undefeated Fairview in the AHSAA 5A quarterfinals Thursday evening.
His third kick completed an 11 play drive of 61 yards and 7:47 of the 4th period clock.
Raeuchle was 3 for 3 in FGs with the distance of 35 and 27 yards. Each time he kicked off, the ball would go deep into the end zone for a touchback.
After Scottsboro took the lead, Fairview had plenty of time to get into field goal range.
However, the Aggies had burned their timeouts to save time on Scottsboro's last drive.

A run by Jake Harper that appeared the Fairview RB got out of bounds to stop the clock was not signaled by the officials.
After a short run from Harper, a poor exchange on passing the ball from the line judge to the umpire enabled a few extra seconds to elapse.
The Aggies got a 38 yard pass from Kolt Redding to Zayden Cruce that went out of bounds at the Scottsboro 22 yard line.
Time reportedly expired with Fairview coach George Redding pleading for the officials to reset the clock to one second.
They didn't and Fairview's fine season ended with a defeat in the quarterfinal round.

Fairview fell behind 10 to 0 in the first with Scottsboro getting a 32 yard FG by Raeuchle and a 6 yard TD run.
The Aggies overcame a first quarter of 19 yards total offense with a 67 yard drive that ended on Redding scoring from 7 yards out and adding the conversion.
That closed the score to 10 to 7 with 7:48 left in the 2nd.
Scottsboro added a FG by Raeuchle after Redding missed for Fairview with 31 seconds to go.

His kick as time expired put the visitors up at the half, 13 to 7.
Fairview forced a Scottsboro punt early in the 3rd then went 71 yards in 7 plays and grabbed the lead at 14 to 13.
Harper scored from the 7 with the conversion by Redding giving the Aggies their first lead of the night. This came with 7:03 to play in the 3rd.
Fairview had a chance to add to the lead after Connor Scott picked off a pass and gave the Aggies the ball at the Scottsboro 17 late in the 3rd.
The Aggies were stopped on 4th down giving the ball to Scottsboro at the Wildcats 29.
Fairview again had possession but could not move from the Aggies 14 and punted to the Wildcats who took over at their 29 with 9:12 remaining in the contest.
The drive would reach the Fairview 10 where the Aggies stood their ground. Raeuchle drilled the kick and Scottsboro would close out the game stopping the Aggies at their 22 yard line.
Scottsboro compiled 348 yards total offense, only 85 in the 2nd half. The Wildcats were flagged 11 times for 115 yards.

Fairview gained 249 yards for the evening with 162 rushing and 86 in the final game for Harper.
Redding was 8 of 12 passing, but only netting 87 yards.
His longest completion was the last play of the game, 38 yards to Cruce.
The Aggies finish the year at 12 & 1 in reaching the playoffs for the 7th straight year under Redding.
