Small schools are ready to perform to a championship level this weekend with the AHSAA track and field meet to be at Britton Field/Woodard Stadium on the Cullman High School campus.
Gameday Weekly is involved with the National Federation High Schools (NFHS) in broadcasting the running championships May 2 and 3.
Friday schedule:

Runners representing Cold Springs, Cullman Christian, Hanceville, Holly Pond. St. Bernard and Vinemont have qualified from the sectional meet the weekend before.
Weather is a possible concern with the current forecast of thunderstorms during Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Huntsville.
The high for Friday is to be in the low 80s.
For Saturday, rain could be in the area during the afternoon period.
The high for Saturday is to be slightly cooler, reaching the mid 70s.
The small schools adore the opportunity of competing from such a fine facility that Britton Field/Woodard Stadium presents to them.
Cullman will be very busy for May 2 and 3 with the event and others like hotels, restaurants and convenience stores will take advantage of the revenue they can receive from numerous out of town visitors.
