South VB defeats North to close out All Star Sports Week:
South All Stars win 7 events in 29th All Star Sports Week competition:

MONTGOMERY: Team South concluded a great time in the 29th presentation of AHSAA All Star Sports Week.
Volleyball finished out the competition Thursday with the South earning a 3 to 1 victory against the North from the Cramton Bowl Multiplex.
The North fought off being down 2 games in the match to winning the 3rd set 25 to 19.
Then the South regained the momentum and claimed victory by a 25 to 19 margin in the 4th set.
Millie Burgess from Vestavia was outstanding for the North in claiming the MVP award. Burgess had 17 kills.
For the South, performing to MVP level was Ella Lomax from Daphne.
Lomax accounted for 9 kills and 3 digs.
From the North, Priceville senior Abby Langlois participated. Langlois appeared in one set with five total attacks and two kills.
Langlois has said she will be playing at the University of North Alabama following graduation from Priceville next year.
The win by the South closes the margin to 16-11 as the North is leading in the all time series.
For the week, the South were victorious in the following sports:
Monday - South swept the North in golf
Monday - South BB won 16 to 6, 2nd game ended in a 7 to 7 tie.
Tuesday - North swept in cross country.
Tuesday - South girls basketball won 85 to 75
- South won the basketball game 76 to 65.
Wednesday - South SB won 2 to 0 & 4 to 2
Wednesday - South won girls soccer 4 to 3
Wednesday - South girls won tennis 6 to 3
Wednesday - North was a 6 to 3 winner in tennis.
Wednesday - North won the soccer game 3 to 1
Thursday - South VB defeats North 3 to 1
