Vinemont VB starts a busy week with a victory:
Lady Eagles sweep Cold Springs in important county assignment:

GDW Analysis:
VINEMONT: Monday's assignment for Vinemont volleyball took a more serious issue after the Lady Eagles had lost a starter for the 2nd time with a concussion protocol.
Setter Mabri Smith reportedly became injured last Thursday during a 3A, Area 11 match at Holly Pond. She suffered the injury in the 2nd set as Vinemont lost the match in 4 games.
Smith did not play later that day against Falkville and was out of the lineup Saturday when the Lady Eagles played in the Fairview Invitational and lost three assignments.
Monday, Smith was cheering her team on the bench as Vinemont swept Cold Springs 3 games to 0 in starting a huge week for the in the quest of getting a high seed for the county tournament next week from Vinemont.
Kaydi Woodard's Lady Eagles are 3 & 0 vs. the county. They will be tested Tuesday during a quad match from Fairview.
The Lady Eagles will meet Fairview at 4:00, face West Point at 5:00 and challenge Good Hope at 6:00 p.m.
Good Hope comes in at 4 & 0 in the county standings while West Point is 3 & 0, tied with Vinemont record wise. Fairview has a win and a loss in the biggest day of the regular season for local volleyball.
Reagan Robinson became the setter for the squad and was comfortable in a role she understands from the past.
Robinson had to minimize her duty in attacking to setting up for her teammates.
The senior got steady play from another senior, Addison Holcomb in attacks around the net.
Making an impact Monday as well was junior Natalie Foell.
The first set went to the wire with a kill by Foell putting Vinemont ahead 22 to 20.
After a block from Cold Springs' Kelsy Wilson trimmed the deficit to 22 to 21, Foell finished the first set for Vinemont with back to back kills off serves from Caroline Miller.
The first set was played in 24 minutes.
Game two belonged to Vinemont, especially Lizzy Flores serving the ball well.
Flores ran off a dozen in a row with Vinemont going from 5 to 4 to 17 o 4 and in a comfortable phase.
Foell was again valuable with the kill to close the set after receiving a good pass from Robinson.
The play of Holcomb and Foell to start the final set was huge for Vinemont with the Lady Eagles getting a 5 to 1 advantage and later making it 14 to 7 on a net block by Holcomb.
Cold Springs was never able to put together a solid run. Foell delivered an ace to give the home team a 20 to 9 margin.
The Lady Eagles took care of the last set at 6:06 p.m. with back to back service points coming from Robinson.
That ended a 3 game losing streak, the longest of the season for this quad with Woodard in her first year after having great success in Addison.
Playing well in the match for Cold Springs from the front line was Wilson with assistance from Miranda Dykes, Kayleigh Light, Kotie Calvert and on the back line, Allie Light, Hagen Ellis and Joli Williams.
The Lady Eagles have completed their county schedule and will go into the tournament as the No. 6 seed with 1 win out of 6 attempts.
Vinemont is now 22 & 9 getting into a good frame of mind Tuesday to see where they will be positioned in the county tournament from a grueling quad match at Joe Shults Gym in Fairview.
