Week 8 of local football consists of a lot of traveling:

Five games for Friday to be outside of Cullman County:

GDW Analysis:
Week 8 of the 2025 AHSAA football regular season with local schools seeking victory in distant trips in regional play.
Five of the six games for October 10 are outside of Cullman County. Local teams will be setting their destination in Morgan, Madison, Marion, Jefferson and Pickens County.
Regional games highlight the schedule with several being an impact assignment in their respective region.
Vinemont at Gordo Friday in 3A, Region 5:
Vinemont invades Green Wave Stadium for the first time, meeting Gordo who is 3rd in the state prep poll.
Vinemont is 5 & 2 and 4 & 0 in the region, Gordo is 6 & 0 and 4 & 0 vs. regional opponents. The Eagles are currently with a 5 game winning streak.
Gordo has played only once at home so far this season. Vinemont is 2 & 1 on the road, coming off a 78 to 42 victory at Hanceville that set a school record for scoring in one game.

 Fairview heads to Priceville in 5A, Region 7:
First place is hanging in the balance Friday with No. 4 Fairview and a much improved Priceville team to battle from Bulldog Stadium.
Fairview is 6 & 0, 4 & 0 in Region 7 with Priceville 5 & 1 overall and 3 & 0 in the region.
Fairview is 7 & 2 all time in this series. The Aggies won 48 to 21 at Dafford Smith Stadium last year.
George Redding's Aggies are on the road for the first time since September 5 when Fairview defeated West Point 42 to 14. The next three games for the Aggies are road assignments.

 Good Hope meets Hamilton in 4A, Region 5:
No. 6 Good Hope visits No. 10 Hamilton Friday for the top spot in the region. 

 Good Hope comes to Joe Sargent Stadium 6 & 0 and 4 & 0 in the region.
Hamilton is 7 & 0 and 4 & 0 against regional competition.

 Hamilton is 5 & 2 vs. the Raiders in the series.
This is the first time for Alan Scott to take his Raiders to Hamilton since 2017 when Good Hope claimed a 33 to 28 victory.
Scott has led Good Hope to 69 wins against 49 losses in his 11th year coaching at his alma mater.
Cullman travels to Huntsville to play Columbia:

 The storyline in this game for Cullman is the Bearcats are at historic Milton Frank Stadium in 6A, Region 7 with the Columbia Eagles.
Cullman is 1 & 6 on the season and 0 & 4 in the region. Columbia enters the game 0 & 6 and 0 & 3 in the region.
Columbia has lost 97 consecutive games, an all time record in the AHSAA. Cullman is 7 & 0 vs. Columbia, defeating the Eagles last season at Britton Field/Woodard Stadium 61 to 6.

Hanceville playing at Midfield in 3A, Region 5:
The winner of this game Friday at Winfred Jackson Stadium will get out of the cellar of the region.

 Both are 0 & 4 in regional play. Midfield has a win in six games, Hanceville is currently 0 & 6.
Midfield is 3 & 0 vs. Hanceville all time. The Patriots won at Ray Talley Stadium 64 to 6 last season.

 Hanceville is currently in a 12 game losing streak in the 2nd year under Levi Estes.
Midfield has lost 5 in a row after the Patriots opened the schedule with a 34 to 6 victory against Huffman. 

 All games will kick off at 7:00 p.m.
