A series of jamborees played around the GDW coverage area:

GDW Analysis:
Prep football jamborees were held around the Gameday Weekly coverage area Thursday and Friday.
This process is for teams who bypassed playing a jamboree during the month of May.
Addison:
New Addison coach Mark Hastings went back to the place he had been the past four seasons, Lynn High School.
Lynn spoiled Hastings' return by scoring 2 touchdowns in the 2nd half to defeat the Bulldogs 28 to 14 Thursday night.
Addison QB Elijah Roberts performed well in scoring twice on runs of 52 and 2 yards and a 2 point conversion.
Hastings had led Lynn to a 34 & 14 record in 4 seasons before taking the Addison position back in the spring.
The Bulldogs open the season Friday at AG Hicks Stadium vs. Winston County, looking for their 600th victory in AHSAA football.
Cullman:
Bearcats went to a location for the first time in their history.
Cullman was part of the Free State Kickoff at Winston County High School.
New coach Trent Walker had his Bearcats battle Winston County for a half and then later in the evening, play Cordova for two quarters.
Now the Bearcats get ready to start the Walker era at Britton Field/Woodard Stadium Friday vs. the Bob Jones Patriots.
Kickoff is 7:00 p.m. with the game to be carried live on 98.3 FM.
Walker County teams:
Jasper shut out Gardendale 14 to 0 from Ki-Ro Gambrill Field.
Oakman prevailed over county foe Dora 21 to 7 at Hosea Collins Stadium in Oakman.
Oakman has a couple of county foes they face in 3A, Region 5 in Hanceville and Vinemont.
Dora is in 4A, Region 5 with the Good Hope Raiders.
Carbon Hill, another squad from 3A, Region 5, was defeated at home by Red Bay 35 to 13.
Lawrence County:
With Trent Walker leaving the Red Devils to become head coach at Cullman, Lawrence County hooked up with rival Hatton Friday evening in a jamboree from Moulton.
The Red Devils have endured back to back winning seasons for the first time in over 20 years.

 Lawrence County faces a pair of county teams they battle for in 5A, Region 7.
West Point Warriors go to Moulton September 12 with the Red Devils heading to Dafford Smith Stadium the 19th to play the Fairview Aggies.
Guntersville:
The Wildcats had a jamboree Thursday from Chorba Lee Stadium against the Geraldine Bulldogs.
Guntersville has been under the direction the last 16 years by Lance Reese, a former Cullman Bearcat player.
Reese is 128 & 44 at the 5A school in Marshall County.  He is the school's winningest coach.
The Wildcats were 9 & 2 last season and in a three way tie for the best record in 5A, Region 8 with Scottsboro and Boaz.
Guntersville will play Southside Gadsden at home in the season opener Friday.
