GDW Analysis:
Determined to end the regular season with plenty of positive, West Point accomplished the task Tuesday evening in which 9 seniors were recognized.
This group has been a part of greatness this team has enjoyed the last 3 years with Mason Voce as the Warriors have won 68 out of 92 games.
The Warriors were able to get more offensive in the 2nd half with 36 points, 22 in the final period. They made 14 FGs in the final 16:00, 8 during the final period.
In the 2nd half, Shelton and Franklin combined for 22 points with both netting 11. Franklin would collect 7 FGs and was 3 of 3 from the FT line.
Shelton scored on 6 FGs, 2 treys and 4 of 7 at the line.
Two treys in the first half from Enis were huge for Enis got a pair of good looks and landed the shots from the left corner.
West Point slowed up Locust Fork sophomore shooting guard Nicholas Horn to 0 points in the last half after he tallied of pair of threes in the 1st half.
The Warriors have raised their level of play that has led to a 7 game winning streak, the Cullman County title they captured January 23 and now an opportunity to defend their AHSAA 5A Area 15 championship.
West Point goes to Moulton Saturday to play Russellville with the winner to face Lawrence County in the championship on February 10.
For Locust Fork, the Hornets come back to Cullman County to compete in the 3A Area 11 tournament.
The Hornets face Holly Pond Saturday at 5:00 p.m. from Vinemont High School Gymnasium.
