GDW Analysis:
Up for grabs in this Saturday afternoon encounter was the No. 2 seed for this year's Cullman County tournament.
West Point was able to overcome Fairview's deliberate tempo and was solid with a 22 point tally in the final 8:00.
The scoring was propelled by Chapman as he delivered 8 in the stanza while Shelton got 5 including a trey as time expired to make it a 12 point margin of victory.
Franklin showed steady play with 2 FGs and 6 of 6 from the line to earn a 10 point outing.
Three treys by Byram were efficient in his role coming off the bench for coach Mason Voce.
What kept Fairview in the contest throughout was three point shooting.
Coach Ganus' Aggies finished with 10 on the day, three each by Cruce and Dunkin.
However, the Aggies were not able to neutralize West Point pushing the pace much faster in the 2nd half and having its twin towers of Chapman and Shelton to combine for 13 in the period.
West Point finishes 4 & 2 in the county regular season setup, 2nd to Cold Springs' 6 & 0 mark.
Fairview is locked in a tie with Holly Pond at 3 & 3 while Vinemont is a game back at 2 & 3 as the Eagles still have Good Hope to play prior to the tournament that will be January 19/24 from Wallace State.
