GDW Analysis:
Local basketball will draw a lot of attention for games to be played on Saturday at three schools in the Gameday Weekly coverage area.

Randy Jones Classic at West Point HS:
Cullman vs. Selma 12:30 p.m.
Cold Springs vs. Addison 2:00 p.m.
Good Hope vs. Russellville 3:30 p.m.
Homewood vs. Muscle Shoals 5:00 p.m.
West Point vs. Meek 6:30 p.m.
Cullman is 12 & 1 and No. 6 in the current 6A state poll.
Cold Springs has won 9 of 10 entering the weekend and has earned the No. 7 position in Class 2A.
Good Hope gets to face Russellville with the Raiders trying to offset a slow start under new coach Mitch Morris.
Homewood is led by former Fairview Aggie standout Elijah Garrison. The Patriots come in at 5 & 4 in a battle with 6A program Muscle Shoals.
West Point hooks up with the Meek Tigers who were 6 & 0 going into a Friday area game at St. Bernard Prep School.

Decatur Heritage Girls Basketball Classic:

  Decatur Heritage vs. Covenant Chr 12:00 p.m.
Russellville vs. Sulligent 1:30 p.m.
West Point vs. Deshler 3:00 p.m.
Cullman vs. Austin 4:30 p.m.
Good Hope vs. Mars Hill 6:00 p.m.
Three local teams with combined records of 30 & 5 take it to the 1A program in the River City Saturday.
West Point has won 11 in a row and goes to DHCA No. 4 in the 5A state poll.
Cullman is 10 & 2 after the Lady Bearcats won at Pike Road in Montgomery Thursday evening.
Good Hope is 2nd in Class 4A with 9 wins in 11 games and ready to match up with undefeated and No. 3 ranked Mars Hill from Class 3A.

Cullman Christian School Classic:
Cullman Christian vs. Gaylesville (G) 12:30 p.m.
Cullman Christian vs. Ider 1:45 p.m.
Vina vs. Gaylesville (G) 3:00 p.m.
Vina vs. Gaylesville 4:15 p.m.
Cullman Christian vs. Vina (G) 5:30 p.m.
Four small school programs across North and Northeast Alabama will play on the parquet floor at Cullman Christian School.
Cullman Christian's Lady Lions will open the classic in the early afternoon and come back in prime time to close out the schedule vs. Vina.

 The Lions will battle Ider that will come to CCS from the Northeast.
This is the first time this type of event is hosted by the local Christian School, now in its 2nd year as a sanctioned member of the AHSAA.
