AHSAA address the issue of NIL for the future:

Media Day hosted by AHSAA to promote 2025 Kickoff Classic:

GDW Analysis:
MONTGOMERY: Media Day was coordinated by the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Thursday to promote the 2025 kickoff classic.
The classic is a doubleheader from legendary Cramton Bowl in the Capitol City.
Next Thursday, Prattville and Pike Road will meet one another.
On Friday the 22nd, Class 3A power Fyffe will go up against Maplesville.
Players and coaches from the four schools took part in promoting the matchups, a traditional event presented by the AHSAA.
Also of note, Executive Director Heath Harmon spoke to those in attendance with one particular topic.
Name, Image and Likeness, better known to the public as "NIL."
NIL is prohibited by the AHSAA as the association prepares for the start of a new year with fall sports of football, volleyball and cross country getting the season under way around the state next Thursday.
Harmon has pointed out the AHSAA is committed to studying this procedure and ensuring any changes align with the mission of supporting amateur athletics.
The AHSAA has a by-law to not allow student athletes of all sports sanctioned by the state to receive financial compensation from their abilities as an athlete.
States that surround Alabama have introduced laws concerning NIL. The trend for the AHSAA is possibly losing student athletes who could go elsewhere and be compensated financially.
No timetable has been reported from the AHSAA in its quest of maintaining a strong grip on all of its sports through the process of amateur prosperity.
