GDW Analysis:
Long journeys on the road Friday evening were successful for the Cullman Bearcats, Fairview Aggies and Good Hope Raiders in Week 10 of the local football regular season.
Cullman 22, Buckhorn 19:
NEW MARKET: Cullman's season closes out on a positive mode with the Bearcats winning their last 3 games, outlasting a good Buckhorn team that is bound for the 6A playoffs.
Cullman finishes Trent Walker's first season at 4 & 6, with a 3 game winning streak in beating Columbia, Decatur and Buckhorn.
The Bearcats now can use this as a positive approach in the offseason.
Fairview 40, East Limestone 10:
CAPSHAW: No. 4 Fairview completed its 5A, Region 7 schedule in a rout of East Limestone Friday.
The Aggies led 33 to 3 at the half.
Fairview is 9 & 0 and 6 & 0 vs. Region 7 opposition.
The Aggies have won 19 straight regular season games.
Good Hope 35, Dora 15:
DORA: Good Hope invaded Walker County and came home beating Dora by three touchdowns.
The Raiders finish 2nd in 4A, Region 5 at 6 & 1 and are 8 & 1 on the season.
Good Hope's victory and Fayette County losing 38 to 21 to Hamilton will have the Raiders at home in the 1st round of the 4A postseason in two weeks.
Falkville 28, Cold Springs 22:
FALKVILLE: A good season for Cold Springs through 7 games goes away with their 3rd straight loss that has eliminated them from postseason play.
The Eagles finish at 6 & 4 and 2 & 4 in 2A, Region 6.
Falkville gets 3rd in the regional standings in this hard fought battle from Burl Vest Stadium.
Winfield 47, Vinemont 7:
WINFIELD: Vinemont is defeated by Winfield with it dropping the Eagles to 3rd in 3A, Region 5.
Vinemont ends the regular season at 6 & 4 and will be in the playoffs for the 6th consecutive year.
Collinsville 45, Holly Pond 22:
COLLINSVILLE: Holly Pond is out of the playoffs for 3A, Region 8 with a loss on the road in Dekalb County.
The Broncos are 4 & 5 and 2 & 4 in the region.
Phil Campbell 76, Hanceville 29:
PHIL CAMPBELL: Hanceville drops to 0 & 9 and 0 & 7 in 3A, Region 5.
