Football regular season about to close out for 2025:
Three teams done with 10 game schedule, others yet to finish:

GDW Analysis:
Three local football teams have completed their 10 game regular season schedule the AHSAA allows.
One still has unfinished business to deal with, the state playoffs. The other two can begin to evaluate what the experience was like in 2025 play.
Vinemont:
The Eagles are qualified for the postseason thanks to winning their first five games in 3A, Region 5 that was part of a 6 game winning streak.
But the last two weeks have been different. Vinemont was physically beaten at Winfield 47 to 7 Friday evening. The Eagles are 6 & 4 and finish 5 & 2 in the region, putting them 3rd in the standings.
Vinemont will play at the No. 2 seed from Region 6 on the weekend of November 7. Their opponent is yet to be determined.
Cullman:
Going 4 & 1 in the 2nd half of the schedule takes away the pain of the worst start the Bearcats have experienced on the gridiron at 0 & 5.
Cullman performed well Friday evening in beating playoff bound Buckhorn 22 to 19. The Bearcats won their last three games and now move ahead to the future with 4 wins out of 10 tries for 1st year coach Trent Walker and plenty of optimism for 2026.
Cold Springs:
Starting well in 2025, the Eagles were soaring with a 6 & 1 record.
Unfortunately, the Eagles could not maintain that edge and see the season now over with three consecutive losses to keep them from playing in the Class 2A postseason.
The last two games were close encounters, but short on the important side of the scoreboard.
Falkville eliminated Cold Springs in a 28 to 22 triumph Friday evening. The Eagles last two defeats have been by a margin of less than a touchdown.
The six victories for Brendan Voce's Eagles are the most for Cold Springs since 2015 when they had a 6 & 4 regular season.
West Point:
Getting to the 5A playoffs is a great feat for West Point this season after 2024 resulted in 2 wins, the lowest in a 10 game schedule since 2009.
West Point has 5 victories and is a .500 team in 5A, Region 7 after its hard fought 25 to 20 victory Friday at home against Ardmore.
The Warriors cooled off a hot high scoring squad and now have a chance to take home 6 wins in the regular season when West Point plays host to the Brewer Patriots Thursday.
Fairview/Good Hope:
They are the top programs in the county since 2020.
In the last two years of the regular season, Fairview is 18 & 0 and Good Hope 17 & 2.
Fairview wrapped up the 5A, Region 7 segment Friday romping over East Limestone 40 to 10.
Good Hope went to Walker County and drubbed Dora 35 to 15.
The Aggies at 9 & 0 will host the 8 & 1 Raiders Thursday. Since 2020, Fairview has gone 57 & 11 with Good Hope 45 wins out of 67 games.
Holly Pond/Hanceville:
For Holly Pond, the Broncos can end 2025 on Halloween by defeating Cleveland at Thomas/Michelfelder Field to make it 5 & 5 overall.
The Broncos lost Friday to Collinsville 45 to 22 that put them out of the postseason in 3A.
Hanceville's season has been extremely difficult with the Bulldogs winless in 9 attempts and allowing the opposition to score 593 points.
Hanceville visits Oak Grove Thursday. The Bulldogs have seen one victory in their last 19 games.
