Playing in the 1A/5A division is limited with North Alabama programs.
Lindsay Lane and Westminster Christian come from Huntsville while Tanner is the lone school from Limestone County and Boaz out of Marshall County.
In neighboring Blount County, JB Pennington is the only school competing.
At the present time, no program from the Cullman County school system, nor Cullman High School, Cullman Christian and St. Bernard Prep is involved in the newest sport the AHSAA has brought forward.
Nothing has been reported to Gameday Weekly on whether local schools will see this sport to be a part of their future.
Practice for flag football teams in the AHSAA can begin on August 4.
The 2025 season will kick off the weekend of August 21.
Playoffs will be held in November with the state championship scheduled for both classifications December 3.
