Former Good Hope FB coach inducted in Walker County HoF:

Williams got 106 wins in FB, 40 of them came at Good Hope HS:

GDW Analysis:
JASPER: JD Williams spent six years coaching football at Good Hope High School, turning the Raiders around with 39 wins in his final 50 games from 1996 to 1999.

Williams also earned claim to fame before Good Hope when he coached the Parrish Tornadoes a 42 & 10 record from 1990 to 1993.
Those two stints account for 81 of the 106 victories for Williams on the gridiron.
On Sunday, Williams was honored by being inducted into the Walker County Sports Hall of Fame. The event was held on the campus of Jasper High School

Williams is a native of Jasper, playing baseball and football at Walker High School.
His tenure as a head coach was 18 years from Lynn to TW Martin to Parrish, Good Hope and Curry.

He retired from Curry in 2003. He would later become principal at Parrish Elementary School.
When Williams replaced Wayne Weissend in 1994, the Raiders suffered through tough times that season and the following year as they had combined for 1 win out of 20 games.

Improvement became a part of Good Hope football with a 7 & 5 record in 1996 and then the 13 & 1 enjoyment the Raiders achieved in 1997, getting to the 3A semifinals for the 2nd time in school history.
Williams holds the Good Hope record for consecutive winning seasons with 4, from '96 to 99 as the Raiders put together their 39 & 10 record and four consecutive trips to the postseason.

In his time at Parrish, Williams ranks 2nd in the school in victories, 44 out of 62.
He is 3rd all time among the Good Hope coaches with a 40 & 29 mark. Billy Joe Pugh and current Raider coach Alan Scott rank ahead of Williams.
Williams is the 4th Good Hope football coach to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame.
Murray "Stubby" Trimble, Pugh, Weissend are in Cullman County and Williams with a spot in Walker County.
