GDW recaps the AHSAA golf championships:

West Point the best in 5A led by the Sutter brothers:

GDW Analysis:
BIRMINGHAM: West Point Warriors earned the AHSAA Class 5A golf championship thanks to a good team score of 293 through the first round from Oxmoor Valley.
After 18 holes, the Warriors held a 13 stroke lead on Bayside Academy.
Bayside had a lower tally Tuesday with a 302 while the Warriors shot a 307.
The first round deficit was too much to overcome as the Warriors came home with the state championship in their class, carding a 600 to 608 for Bayside Academy.
Guntersville finished 3rd with a 618.

 West Point's brother tandem of Bailey Sutter and Rawlin Sutter carried the team to greatness.
Bailey went to the lead with an 8 under par 64 in the first round and was steady as conditions became worse on Tuesday. He finished with a 2 under par 70 and was 134 for the tournament.
Rawlin carded a 3 under par 69 Monday and was almost equal in scoring a 70 for the final round Tuesday. His two days at Oxmoor Valley accounted for a 139.
TB Pendley went from a first round 81 to a 2nd round of 3 over 75. Brooks Wilkins was the 4th to score for the Warriors, an 86 in the first round and an 85 on Tuesday.
Also from the state championships:
Will Drake of Cullman 2nd in Class 6A. Drake shot a 69 in the opening round and made progress with an 8 under par 64 on Tuesday. His 2 day score was 133, finishing a shot behind Chase Keys of Spain Park who had a 132.
West Point Lady Warriors got the runner up position in 4A/5A.
The Lady Warriors were at 251 in the first round and trimmed that to a 247 through the final round.
West Point was a 498 for the tournament as Tuscaloosa Academy cruised to the team title with a 2 day score of 438, getting a 214 after 18 holes on Monday.
Brooklyn Sutter was on top for the Lady Warriors, getting a first round one over par 73 and a final round of 4 over par 76.
Charli Aris shot an 82 on Monday and followed with an 83 Tuesday for a 2 day score of 165.
Allie Freeman was consistent with two rounds of 92, a total of 184 for the tournament.
Sutter's score got her tied for 3rd among the individuals.
Aris placed 10th overall individually.

 Abby Lee from Vinemont played competitive golf for her two days in Class 3A.
The Vinemont linkster was 5th with an 83 and an 86 for a two day tally of 169.
