GDW to stay on top of AHSAA coaching vacancies:
Athletic programs on the go heading toward 2025/26 season:

GDW Analysis:
Athletic programs sanctioned by the AHSAA understand the procedure with the current school year about to close out and the new one vastly approaching.
Gameday Weekly is staying on top of schools in search of head coaches in various high school programs.
This is the latest in research by GDW:
Hanceville:
Girls basketball coach vacant. The school is in the process of trying to replace Christina Watson who stepped down back in April.
Hewitt Trussville:
Girls basketball coach vacant. The 7A school in Jefferson County is looking to replace Tonya Hunter who led the Lady Huskies to deep runs in the playoffs between 2021 to 2024.
JB Pennington:
Softball coach vacant. The 3A program in Blount County is looking to find a replacement after Katie Pate coached the program for the past 3 years.
Brewer:
Football coach vacant. Nothing has been reported by the school in Morgan County in trying to get a new coach after Matt Plunkett recently resigned.
The athletic director at Brewer is former West Point football coach and AD Don Farley. Farley has been with the 5A school for one year.
Addison:
Volleyball coach vacant. Nothing has been reported from the 1A school in neighboring Winston County, a month after Kaydi Woodard stepped down and accept a similar position at Vinemont High School.
Vinemont:
Cody Harris is now the assistant principal and athletic director. Harris takes the position after Todd Johnson recently was named principal at Vinemont Middle School.
Gameday Weekly visited with Harris during a regular meeting of the CCBOE Monday afternoon.
Falkville:
Girls basketball coach vacant. The 2A school in Morgan County is looking to fill the position that became vacant recently when Jonathan Lacy accepted a similar position at Brewer High School.
GDW will provide updates on vacancies and replacements throughout the summer schedule.
