Curry HS:
Curry High School has hired former Fairview Lady Aggies assistant coach Jeff Daniel to take command of the Yellow Jackets.
Daniel was at Brewer High School in the 2024/25 season guiding the girls program.
Daniel spent several seasons at Fairview working on the girls' staffs with current coach Chris Nichols and former head coach Justin Billings.
Curry posted one victory in the 2024/25 season. The Yellow Jackets are Class 4A in the AHSAA, competing in Area 9 with Dora, Fultondale, Tarrant, Cordova.
The high school is scheduled a meet and greet for coach Daniel Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. inside the new gymnasium.
Addison HS:
New coaches for Addison basketball got seen by Gameday Weekly last week.
Chris Lane handles the Bulldogs while Jazz Johnson is coaching the Lady Bulldogs.
Lane comes to Addison from nearby rival Meek High School. Lane was an assistant coach with the Tigers last season that finished 2nd in the 1A Northwest Regional at Wallace State.
Johnson is a 2010 graduate of Fairview High School, known in her prep days as Jazz Foust.
Johnson had served on the Addison staff with Bailey Boland. Boland recently left Addison and was named head coach at Falkville High School.
New Addison principal Scott Flynn and his staff elevated Johnson to the head position recently.
Johnson was at Addison in 2023 when the Lady Bulldogs made a run that got them to the Final Four of the 1A Northwest Regional.
GDW saw Lane and his Bulldogs play at the West Point playday June 17. Johnson had her Lady Bulldogs at Holly Pond June 20 in taking on Fairview and Holly Pond.
