Good Hope plays good to beat Priceville in CBC playday:
Raiders get inspired against rival:

GDW Analysis:
New Good Hope basketball coach Griffin Morris saw his Raiders display a good performance Friday morning against the Priceville Bulldogs from the Cullman Basketball Complex.
Good Hope and Priceville have created an intense rivalry in recent years as both were hooked up in the same area of the AHSAA.
Priceville now has moved up to 5A with uncertainty if the rivalry will remain on schedule.
But for June 13, the 2nd week of summer playdays wrapped up and the Raiders showed good team play for a 40 to 24 victory.
Good Hope is undergoing a change in personnel with four seniors no longer a part of the squad after graduating last month.
Morris does have some ready to make the next move to keep Good Hope among the best in Cullman County and 4A, Area 13 in the AHSAA.
The new look Raiders went to work with a fast start on Priceville. Outside shooting by Kye McSwain, Owen Armstrong and Memphis Johnson gave the Raiders a 15 to 2 cushion halfway into the first half.
Good Hope would go to the break on top by a margin of 19 to 6.
Morris was pleased to have Tyler Byrd back on the floor after missing early in the week, recovering from a hamstring injury.
The Raiders would receive steady play from the post by sophomore to be Tucker Screws. Tucker Keef gave them another hard worker on the frontline with the Raiders getting 21 on the board for the final half and winning 40 to 24.
Against Corner in their next matchup, the two shot well in the first half as a high scoring affair was going on with the Raiders leading 31 to 29.
Corner then moved into the lead early in the last half and a 29 to 12 surge enabled the Yellow Jackets to pull away and claim a 58 to 43 verdict, preventing a 2 & 0 day for Morris' crew.
Corner drains threes vs. Cold Springs:
Corner has been a ball club Gameday Weekly has seen four times in the playday series this month.
The Yellow Jackets have blended an attack of outside and inside scoring and showed it Friday afternoon vs. the Cold Springs Eagles.
Nine shots came from 3 point range in the first half at the top, the wings and baseline. That propelled the Jackets for a 37 to 18 advantage.
Coach Nathan Sanders changed the approach during the final stanza. Corner would have good looks near the basket, score 28 in the half and finish Friday the 13th by winning 65 to 41.
Cold Springs experienced a day of learning with new coach Drew Adams.
The Eagles would have consistency issues in shot execution in this game and earlier in the day when they took on Hatton.
Adams made his point several times when time outs were dealt. A 23 point 2nd half in the Corner game showed what the Eagles have when they can deliver on numerous possessions.
Working hard for the Eagles were guards Ayden Black, Ethan Day and Tyson Kilgo.
Linden Hill, Wyatt Barker flexed their muscles at the forward position and Breydon Hallman was hard at it from his center spot.
Second week of playdays in the books:
Five consecutive days of games were seen by Gameday Weekly as the action from the CBC Friday was five varsity assignments.
Thirty four games were seen by GDW from the past week, 11 in two days of varsity play.
GDW looks ahead to the final week of the summer series the AHSAA allows each June.
In varsity assignments next week, GDW is to report from West Point on Tuesday, Wallace State Wednesday and Priceville on Thursday.
Local teams that will get analyzed by GDW will be Cold Springs, Cullman, Good Hope, Vinemont and West Point.
