Local teams show a winning style in the Randy Jones Classic:
Cullman starts it, West Point finishes it in 3rd annual classic:

WEST POINT: Cullman County teams stood out in the 3rd annual Randy Jones Classic from West Point's Jim Boyd Gymnasium Saturday.
It began with the Cullman Bearcats dominating the Selma Saints 71 to 33 in the early afternoon.
The event came to a conclusion in prime time thanks to a solid West Point comeback to knock off previously undefeated Meek 61 to 49.
Cold Springs Eagles and Good Hope Raiders added to the positive of local hoops. Cold Springs jumped on Addison in the 1st and would carry it to a 57 to 44 triumph.
Good Hope produced a segment of back to back victories for the first time this season. The Raiders snared a 63 to 61 victory over Russellville.
Cullman:
The No. 6 squad in the current 6A rankings were off and running on Selma with a 26 to 4 lead after the first and 52 to 16 at the half.
Sam Dorough ripped the cords for 19 points to receive player of the game honors.
Brooks Loftin scored 16, Gray Hopper 8 for the 'Cats now 13 & 1 on the season.
Cullman had played in the Montgomery area two days prior to the Jones Classic, getting a 61 to 51 come from behind triumph over Pike Road.
Cold Springs:
Eight minutes into their matchup vs. Addison, Cold Springs moved out to a 22 to 6 lead.
Addison held a slight edge in the scoring in the 2nd and sliced the deficit to 30 to 20 at the half.
A 16 to 7 surge by the Eagles in the 3rd sent them to a 46 to 37 advantage entering the final stanza.
Breydon Hallman anchored a balanced attack for the 7th ranked Eagles in the 2A rankings with 13 points. Hallman was selected the player of the game.
Ayden Black tossed in 3 treys and had 11 with Lindon Hill scoring 10 and Cash Dickerson 6.
Drew Adams' Eagles are 11 & 1 and currently on a 7 game winning streak.
Scout Flynn got 11 to guide Addison, now 5 & 3 on the season.
Good Hope:
From a 79 to 73 homecoming victory Friday against Danville, Good Hope displayed a hard fought effort and grabbed the win in the closing seconds with Russellville.
Shooting guard Kye McSwain accounted for 7 of his team high 23 points in the closing moments of the game.
A pair of free throws kept the Raiders ahead as Russellville missed a shot from near halfcourt as time expired that could have won the contest.
McSwain was selected the player of the game with Good Hope now 4 & 6 under new coach Mitch Morris.
Owen Armstrong tallied 8, Christian Sims 5, Ayden Young 5, Tucker Keef 6, Memphis Johnson 5 and Tucker Screws 4 to display balance from this group.
Russellville had a great outing from forward Sir Williams with 31 points, scoring 24 in the 2nd half to keep the Golden Tigers in contention when the Raiders built a 55 to 47 lead in the final period.
West Point:
Meek entered the Classic 7 & 0 and 7th in 1A hoops. The Tigers got 3 FGs from PG Evan McKay, 2 treys to carry them to a 16 to 10 lead through the first on West Point.
Meek slowed down West Point and went to the locker room leading 28 to 20 at the break.
Ther game changed to West Point's side in the 2nd half.
An 18 to 9 scoring edge in the 3rd with Maddox Chapman having 6, Nolan Franklin and Jaxson Shelton 4 and a three by Kade Vincent enabled the home squad to slide on top by the score of 38 to 37.
The final period was controlled by Mason Voce's Warriors in a 23 to 12 margin as they converted 10 FGs in the period, 5 from Chapman enroute to scoring 25 and being selected the player of the game.
Chapman took over the scoring chores with 19 in the final half.
Shelton netted 16, Franklin scored 11 and Vincent got 7 with the Warriors now 8 & 4, going 3 & 0 during the week.
McCay led the Tigers with 17 from his PG spot and Parker Ferguson scored 15 on 7 short range jumpers and a FT.
The Tigers fell to 7 & 1.
Homewood:
Homewood shook off a 53 to 50 deficit heading to the 4th to defeat Muscle Shoals 78 to 70 behind a 28 to 17 tally in the final 8:00.
Kaleb Carson scored 17 for Homewood, who moved to 6 & 5 with the victory.
The Patriots are led by former Fairview Aggie and UAH Charger Elijah Garrison as their head coach.
KJ Cowan of Muscle Shoals had the best individual outing in the Classic, hitting for 36 with 21 being put on the scoreboard in the 2nd half.
The Trojans are 1 & 2 for the season.
