Hanceville has a change with its softball program:

HANCEVILLE: Coaching changes continue with athletic programs covered regularly by Gameday Weekly.
The latest is from Hanceville High School.
The 3A school report through social media Wednesday Kim Lewis is the new softball coach.
Lewis has been in education for 18 years with her specialty being physical education.
Lewis played college softball in the Gulf South Conference at the University of West Alabama.
She comes to Hanceville where the Lady Bulldogs had 14 wins, 18 losses and a tie in 2025 play.
A strong run at the end of the season in 3A, Area 12 got Hanceville 2nd in the tournament and a berth to the AHSAA East Regional in Albertville.
Lewis will have experience coming back at several positions, featuring Josi Jones and Isabella Spinks as their top pitchers.
Hanceville will deal with county foes Holly Pond and Vinemont, plus Blount County schools JB Pennington and Locust Fork in area play next year.

Hayden High School reports Chad Eads is now the Wildcats' football coach. This hiring was approved by the Blount County Board of Education on Wednesday.
Eads was at Gardendale for 7 years, guiding the Rockets to 50 wins against 33 losses and 6 berths to the playoffs.
Eads will bring his Wildcats into Cullman County on September 26 when they play the West Point Warriors.
Two girls basketball coaches in the Lawrence County school system will be starting their AHSAA careers next year.
Lawrence County recently hired former Priceville standout Jenna Walker. Walker graduated from Priceville in 2021 and played a couple of seasons at Murray State University in Kentucky before injuries forced her into retirement.
Sadie Thompson takes over the role at Hatton High School. Thompson prepped at Lawrence County, helping the Red Devils to 19 wins in her senior year of 2021, averaging 21 points a game.
They will be the youngest head coaches in the GDW coverage area, at the age of 22 years old.
