Week 9 of the local football regular season is hot and heavy with regional assignments.
Seven of the eight teams covered by Gameday Weekly encounter an impact battle with their opposition.
Here is a look at what's ahead for these teams in games to be on October 17:
Cold Springs:
Eagles at Southeastern in 2A, Region 6.
CS is 2 & 2 in Region 6, tied for 3rd with Falkville.
SE is 3 & 1 in Region 6, currently 2nd.
Eagles had 4 game winning streak stopped last Thursday to region leader Coosa Christian 41 to 8 at home.
SE defeated Cleveland to grab 2nd place heading into this week of games.
Cullman:
Bearcats vs. Decatur in 6A, Region 7 from Britton Field/Woodard Stadium.
Decatur is 1 & 3 in Region 7, tied for 4th with Athens.
Cullman is 1 & 4 in the region.
Cullman can spoil Decatur's quest for a playoff bid by pulling off a victory in the final game for the 'Cats from the home field.

Good Hope:
Raiders vs. Fayette Co in 4A, Region 5 from James Shabel Stadium.
Fayette Co is 5 & 0 in the region, tied for 1st with Hamilton.
Good Hope is 4 & 1 in the region, currently 3rd in the standings.
Good Hope needs to be a winner against Fayette Co or the Raiders lose the opportunity of hosting a first round playoff assignment.
Hanceville:
Bulldogs vs. Winfield in 3A, Region 5 from Ray Talley Stadium.
Winfield is 4 & 1 in Region 5, tied for 2nd in standings with Gordo.
Hanceville is 0 & 5 in the region, currently in last place.
Winfield seeks victory then finishes the regional schedule at home October 24 vs. Vinemont.
Holly Pond:
Broncos vs. Fyffe in 3A, Region 8 from Thomas/Michelfelder Field.
Fyffe is 5 & 0 in the region, tied for 1st with Geraldine.
Holly Pond is 3 & 2 in the region, currently tied for 3rd with Collinsville.
Broncos have two challenging games left in the region with Fyffe and Collinsville.
Whitesburg Christian, who beat Holly Pond on October 3, is a game behind the Broncos at 2 & 3 and own the tiebreaker by a 28 to 6 victory.

Vinemont:
Eagles vs. Oakman in 3A, Region 5 from Mark Smothers Stadium.
Vinemont is 5 & 0, currently 1st in the region.
Oakman is 2 & 3 in the region, 5th in the standings.
Vinemont has clinched a playoff berth. The Eagles are looking to get a home game for the first round of the playoffs.
Oakman is trying to be a spoiler with Vinemont on a 6 game winning streak.
The game will be on WKUL FM (92.1).
West Point:
Warriors at Russellville in 5A, Region 7
West Point is 2 & 2 in the region, currently 4th in the standings.
Russellville is 3 & 1 in the region, tied for 2nd with Priceville.
Ardmore is a game behind West Point at 1 & 3 in the region. Ardmore host East Limestone Friday and comes to West Point on the 24th.
All games are at 7:00 p.m.
