MONTGOMERY: More championship hardware from the golf course is now inside the home of the Sutter family.
Bailey Sutter recently earned the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) and the Southern Golf Association (SGA) crown, a month after he won the 5A AHSAA state title representing West Point High School.
Now his younger brother Rawlin has made his impact.
Rawlin captured the AGA Junior championship from Wynlakes Country Club this weekend.
The younger Sutter went to the top of the leaderboard with a 64 in the first round. He was 4 strokes ahead of the older Sutter at that time.
Bailey made a charge in the final round with a 67 while Rawlin carded a 70.
For the two day tally, Rawlin was 10 under with a 134 while Bailey had a 135, nine under par.
In winning the title over his brother and others, Rawlin compiled a birdie on the final hole. That allowed him to hold on for a one stroke triumph.
Winning the state junior championship now sends Rawlin to the US Amateur event in Dallas the week of July 21.
At the same time Bailey will be participating in the AHSAA all star event at Wynlakes.
Bailey will be representing the North in one round against the top seniors to be from the South.
