Good Hope setter honored, Holly Pond wins battle with Fairview:

Plenty of storylines to report on by Gameday Weekly from the final Thursday of local volleyball for September.
Tri match not fully played:
VINEMONT: A tri match was scheduled Thursday with Vinemont and Hanceville to face Falkville.
A conflict with Falkville's scheduling prevented the event from being fully completed.
Vinemont coach Kaydi Woodard contacted Falkville coach Annie King via cell phone shortly after Vinemont had defeated Hanceville 3 games to 0.
Falkville was playing in the Morgan County tournament.
The event was listed on Dragon Fly, a website associated with the AHSAA.
Falkville forfeited the assignment with wins being credited to Vinemont and Hanceville for the 2025 season.
Good Hope grabs a huge area victory:
GOOD HOPE: Good Hope overcame a 1 to 0 deficit in 4A, Area 13 play with East Lawrence Thursday.
The Lady Raiders won three in a row by scores of 25 to 17, 25 to 22 and 25 to 20.
That makes Good Hope 2 & 1 in the area, currently in 2nd place behind West Morgan.
Good Hope senior Campbell Koch was honored for getting her 2,000th career assist.
Koch's play in setting up her teammates to attack has been instrumental in the past three years.
Good Hope split the tri match, dropping a battle with Curry 2 to 1 in the evening time.
The Lady Raiders are 19 & 15 on the season.
Holly Pond edges Fairview in showdown:
FAIRVIEW: To determine the middle seeds for next week's Cullman County tournament, Holly Pond claimed a 2 to 1 victory against Fairview Thursday from Joe Shults Gymnasium.
That put Holly Pond the 4th seed for the county tournament with a 3 & 3 record. Fairview will be Nol 5 in the tournament at 2 & 4.
A rematch with the two is scheduled for Monday with the county tournament to be at Vinemont Gymnasium.
Holly Pond followed the Fairview victory by sweeping Brindlee Mountain 2 to 0.
The Lady Broncos have the best record of local volleyball with 25 wins and 8 losses.
Taking momentum into the county tourney:
GOOD HOPE: A squad that is putting proper momentum together before the Cullman County tournament gets played is the Good Hope junior varsity.
Good Hope rolled off 7 victories this week in a span of four days.
Tuesday was huge with the Lady Raiders taking a Quad Match at West Point, defeating West Point, Fairview and Vinemont. That gave them the No. 1 seed for the county tournament.
On Thursday, the JV team posted victory in hard fought sets at home with East Lawrence and Curry.
A majority of this JV team knows about winning. Most of them were on the Cullman County middle school championship squad last season.
Good Hope will play in the semifinal round of the JV division of the county tournament on Tuesday from Vinemont Gymnasium.
