Flash Facts:
The 6th edition of this classic to open local girls basketball began with Class 7A power Albertville leading Lauderdale Co 38 to 23 early in the 3rd. LC started getting shots to fall and was able to draw within a point late at 49 to 48.

Lani Smallwood saved victory for Albertville by scoring the final 4 points. Smallwood has committed to play at Mississippi State after she graduates next year.
Good Hope showed balance with the Lady Raiders having six to get into the scoring column and also connect on 11 shots from 3 point range.
Newcomer Ella Davis, formerly of St. Bernard, presented the Lady Raiders another weapon to go with the 15 by Konrad, a freshman, 13 from Gibbs and 9 by Lexi Marshall.
Standing out for Muscle Shoals was forward Makenzie Sears, 16 by halftime and 14 in the final half on 11 FGs and 8 of 9 FTs. She is the sister to former Alabama standout Mark Sears.
Fairview's scoring was divided between Nichols at PG with Quick on one wing and Stidham at the other wing.
A 26 to 8 run in the 2nd enabled Fairview to grab a 42 to 13 halftime advantage and coast from there in their opener.
Holly Pond trailed 2 to 0 a minute into its game with Cullman Christian. The Lady Broncos displayed their strength with 22 in the first and 16 in the second for a 38 to 4 halftime cushion.
Cullman Christian kept playing hard with the Lady Lions scoring six shots from 3 point land in the final half, three by Piper Coots and two from Lila Sellers.
The Lady Lions were playing in the classic for the very first time.
