GDW Analysis:
  A new season of AHSAA is ready to get going with a majority of the teams Gameday Weekly covers to be on the road Friday.
Only one stadium locally will be active. The others will have to wait until the upcoming weeks.
This is a reversal from last year when four teams got the schedule going on the home turf.
These series are two year contracts as they swap sites from one season to the next.
Cullman Bearcats:
  Vs. Bob Jones Friday 7:00 p.m.
Britton Field/Woodard Stadium - Cullman
Game will be on cullmanbearcats.com and

the WKUL Roku App.
SERIES: Bob Jones 1 to 0
2024: Bob Jones defeated Cullman 48 to 12
Cullman: Trent Walker 1st year.
Cullman was 5 & 6 in 2024. Bearcats were 3 & 3 at home last season.
Last time Cullman won on opening night, 13 to 10 at Mars Hill in 2022 with a blocked punt going to the end zone in the final seconds.
Fairview Aggies:
  At Fultondale Friday 7:00 p.m.
Wildcats Field - Fultondale
SERIES: 1st meeting
Fairview was 10 & 2 in 2024. Aggies had a 9 & 0 record in the regular season.
Coach George Redding 19th year, 127 & 70.
Aggies were able to add Fultondale to make it a 10 game regular season for 2025.
Redding's Aggies have won five consecutive season openers.
Holly Pond Broncos:
  At Appalachian Friday 7:00 p.m.
James Carr Stadium - Oneonta

 Game will be on hollypondbroncos.com
SERIES: Appalachian 2 to 1
2024: Appalachian defeated Holly Pond 28 to 18.
Will McDaniel 2nd year at Holly Pond, 4 & 6.
Broncos made improvement from 2 victories in 2023 to 4 last season.
Last time Broncos won a season opener was in 2021 by a 53 to 0 score over Brindlee Mountain.
Vinemont Eagles:
At Falkville Friday 7:00 p.m.
Burl Vest Stadium - Falkville
Series: Vinemont 26 to 20
2024: Vinemont defeated Falkville 16 to 14
Eagles were 7 & 4 in 2024.
Stephen Robinson 9th year at Vinemont, 36 & 49.
Eagles are 3 & 2 in season opener since 2020.
This is the oldest rivalry for opening week play of the local season.
Vinemont had a 3 & 2 road record last year.
West Point Warriors:
At Haleyville Friday 7:00 p.m.
Bubba Scott Field - Haleyville
SERIES: Haleyville 8 to 1
2024: Haleyville defeated West Point 27 to 24
Kevin McCrary 2nd year at West Point, 2 & 8
West Point is 20 & 32 since 2020.

 Last time the Warriors won on opening night was 2023 at Good Hope by the score of 49 to 32.
Good Hope Raiders:
At Pisgah Friday in jamboree 7:00 p.m.
Sam Kenimer Stadium - Pisgah
SERIES: Good Hope 1 to 0
Raiders defeated Pisgah 43 to 6 in quarterfinals of AHSAA 3A playoffs in 1997.
Raiders were 10 & 2 in 2024
Alan Scott 11th year at Good Hope, 63 & 49
Scott is 2nd in all time wins at Good Hope. Billy Joe Pugh leads with 86 (1972-86).
Raiders are getting a solid ball club for a jamboree game this week.
First time for the Raiders to play on the Pisgah campus.
Season officially opens for the Raiders at James Shabel Stadium August 29 vs. West Point.
