Priceville Classic November 15
Staying calm and maintaining the game plan was on display for the Cullman Lady Bearcats Saturday evening.
Cullman overcame a rough first period with only 2 made FGs by knocking down four shots in the 2nd, two from 3 point range and rallied to get within a point of the Lady Bulldogs at 18 to 17.
Senior Molly Dorough was the impact player for coach Tammy West in the 3rd scoring 7 and having a dozen through 24:00 of play.
Shooting guard Kadence Hanback tallied her 2nd trey in the third and a three from 7th grade PG Katherine Ugarkovich boosted the offense in which they outscored Priceville 17 to 9 and went to the 4th ahead by the score of 34 to 27.
Dealing with a tough environment, Cullman showed poise with Dorough adding four to her point total, three being scored by center Molly Wilson, a three from Mckinley Varden to keep the lead in respectable range.
Dorough delivered 16 for the Lady 'Cats 4th win of the new season with West in her first year coaching the hard working group.
Wilson tallied 10, Hanback added 8, Varden and Ugarkovich 3 and Rachel Hoffman 2.
The win against Priceville capped off a week of three victories in the span of five days.
Cullman defeated Arab 54 to 41 on Tuesday in the Veterans' Day Classic at Wallace State.
Two nights later, the Lady 'Cats romped by Cordova 75 to 7 from Bearcat Arena.
This was the first meeting from the coaching ranks between West and Shane Childress of Priceville.
Childress is in his 2nd year with the 5A school in Morgan County.
