West Point TK making a good name for itself in the summer:

Athletes representing the 5A school stood out this weekend:

GDW Analysis:
WEST POINT: Six members of the West Point track and field program put together solid performances over the weekend.
Five of them had their share of success in the Cullman Track Camp, held at Britton Field/Woodard Stadium.
The other made the opportunity count while competing in the USATF Region 6 championship from Choccolocco Park in Oxford.
At the Cullman event, Rush Lamar was the winner in the 14/15 division in 100 meter, 220 meter, 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles.
Lyric Antone claimed gold in the 12/13 group in the 100 meter, 100 hurdles, long jump and a silver in the 200 meter.
From the 16/17 field, Ray McKenney made it a first place sweep from the 100 meter, 200 meter and 400 meter.
Hanna McKenney was solid in 16/17 field events. She took home the gold in the discus, javelin and shot put.
Braxton Shackleford earned a silver medal in the 12/13 division in 400 meter.
Senior to be Asa Sutter represented the school well in the Region 6 competition from Oxford.
Sutter qualified for the National championship with Top 10 outings in the regional in the high jump, javelin, triple jump and 100 hurdles.
His best result was 4th in the high jump and 5th in the javelin.
The nationals for Sutter will take place the week of July 21 from Savannah State University in Savanna, Georgia.
