GDW Analysis:
From the 4th week of the AHSAA 2024 and 2025 football season, winning has been very good for the local programs.
The Cullman County schools have made a strong statement with a 6 & 1 record in Week 4 with it being regional play.
On Friday, six teams enjoyed the honor of playing on a nice September at home.
Victory was earned by Cold Springs, Fairview, Good Hope, Vinemont as a home squad.
Holly Pond and West Point had solid outings on the road in Marshall and Lawrence counties.
Unfortunately, another heartbreaking loss was dealt to the Cullman Bearcats.
Homecoming for Hanceville was not to be celebrated in full capacity. The Bulldogs played an even half with Carbon Hill before victory eluded them in the final half.
Fairview 42, Ardmore 7:
Aggies 4 & 0 and 2 & 0 i n 5A, Region 7.
Career win No. 131 for coach George Redding.
Redding can tie Mark Smothers for wins by a county coach next Friday when Fairview plays host to Lawrence County.
Good Hope 42, Haleyville 0:
Second straight shutout for the Raiders. Good Hope 3 & 0 and 2 & 0 in 4A, Region 5.
Raiders have allowed 1 TD by the opposition in 12 quarters of play so far.
Holly Pond 60, Brindlee Mtn 12:
Broncos have a 3 & 1 record and are tied for 1st in 3A, Region 8 at 2 & 0. The Broncos are off to their best start since the same mark back in 2021.
Vinemont 37, Midfield 16:
A second straight win from Mark Smothers Stadium for the Eagles as they go to 2 & 0 in 3A, Region 5 and 2 & 2 for the season.
West Point 41, Lawrence Co 8:
Warriors go into Moulton and come home with a good outing to get the overall record to 2 & 2 and to go 1 & 1 in 5A, Region 7.
Jasper 30, Cullman 29:
Cullman had taken a 29 to 23 lead late in the contest from Britton Field/Woodard Stadium.
Jasper rallied and dropped the Bearcats to a 0 & 4 start for the first time in school history.
The last 3 losses for the Bearcats have been by combined total of 5 points.
Carbon Hill 62, Hanceville 41:
In a battle of Bulldogs, Carbon Hill outscored Hanceville 34 to 13 in the 2nd half after the game was deadlocked 28 to 28 at the half.
Carbon Hill claims its first win of the season.
Hanceville fell to 0 & 4 and 0 & 2 in 3A, Region 5.
